UnTapped By Whitney Lynn

Unapologetically Black. Unapologetically Queer. Unapologetically Bold

Independence Day celebration

At UnTapped, we are a disruptive, multi-dimensional consulting lab with a singular purpose: to obliterate systems of oppression and co-create bold, liberatory change.

We reject white supremacy, systemic racism, capitalism, and all structures that perpetuate inequity and violence. Our work is grounded in radical imagination, creativity, and deep accountability to the communities we serve.

We don't do this work for recognition.

We do it because liberation isn’t optional — it’s urgent.

We exist for those who are tired of watered-down reforms and ready for something more radical. More rooted. More real.

Founder & Principal of UnTapped

Meet Whitney Lynn

Whitney L. Bunts (she/her) is the founder and principal of UnTapped by Whitney Lynn — a force for liberation at every level of her life and work

As a Black, queer activist and advocate, Whitney has spent over a decade disrupting systems and reimagining what’s possible. She launched UnTapped to create a home for bold, justice-driven solutions that center the people most impacted by oppression.

Before founding UnTapped, Whitney led policy change at the national level as Senior Director of Public Policy and Advocacy at True Colors United, where she focused on ending youth homelessness with a sharp focus on LGBTQ+ youth. She also served as a policy analyst at the Center for Law and Social Policy (CLASP), advocating for youth mental health, juvenile justice, and education equity—and leading a 20+ organization coalition to reimagine the nation’s mental health response without policing.

Whitney’s leadership has shaped state and local policy, informed national advocacy, and produced widely recognized research and writing. She’s organized with Black Youth Project 100 (BYP100) and Environmental Justice Griots, and continues to serve on multiple boards and advisory groups pushing for transformative, community-rooted change.

Academically, Whitney is nothing short of exceptional. She holds a master’s in social work from Washington University in St. Louis, where she focused on policy and system dynamics and was awarded the Excellence Award for Activism. She also holds a double BA in political science and psychology from Georgia State University.

Outside the consulting lab, Whitney is a substitute teacher, emerging photographer, poet, and active community volunteer—living her values in everything she does.

We’re Movement-Grounded, Not Market-Driven

UnTapped is not a brand — it’s a living, breathing part of a global movement for justice.

We don’t parachute in with one-size-fits-all answers. We show up as students and co-conspirators, working alongside grassroots organizers whose brilliance and resistance have shaped liberation work for generations.

Our strategies are grounded in lived experience, not boardroom theory. We listen deeply. We uplift voices often silenced. And we build solutions with—not for—communities most impacted by systemic harm.

We don’t water things down to make them more comfortable or palatable. Our work isn’t filtered through the white gaze, and it’s not designed to maintain the status quo. It’s built for joy, collective power, and lasting transformation.

That’s why we don’t take every client. We collaborate only with those who are ready to tell the truth, take accountability, and step fully into the work of bold, systemic change.

The Principles That Guide Us

We don’t just talk about transformation — we live it.
Our principles shape every relationship, every room, and every project we’re part of:

This is who we are. This is how we move. And this is what sets UnTapped apart.
